Michael Fieldman

Precision Psychiatry

I do not believe in one-size-fits-all psychiatry. With over 10 years of experience in molecular and cellular biology research, I bring a deep understanding of neurobiological processes to Depression Treatment NJ. After a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, patients receive personalized treatment plans that may include medication management and ongoing monitoring tailored to individual symptoms, medical history, and mental health conditions.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Question

What Does A Psychiatrist Help With?

A Psychiatrist evaluates and treats a wide range of mental health conditions using medical, diagnostic, and evidence-based approaches. This can include psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric medication management, and ongoing monitoring for conditions such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, treatment-resistant depression, postpartum depression, and substance abuse. The goal is improved stability, functioning, and overall quality of life.

Symptoms of depression may include persistent sadness, lack of interest in activities, difficulty sleeping, changes in appetite, feelings of worthlessness, low energy, and trouble concentrating. Some people experience depression symptoms that interfere with daily life, work, or relationships. In more severe cases, individuals may experience suicidal thoughts, which require immediate attention from a qualified health care provider.

Depression treatment may address major depressive disorder, clinical depression, Persistent Depressive Disorder, postpartum depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and treatment-resistant depression. These mental health disorders often overlap with anxiety or substance use disorders. Accurate diagnosis helps guide effective treatment and supports long-term recovery.

Long-term recovery involves more than symptom relief. Treatment focuses on medication management, lifestyle changes, emotional regulation, and coordination with support groups or outpatient care when appropriate. This comprehensive approach helps patients experience depression less intensely over time and improves overall quality of life.

Psychiatric care focuses on evaluation and medication management. When appropriate, patients may be referred to external providers for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, or Motivational interviewing. Coordination ensures patients receive evidence-based therapies aligned with their personalized approach.
