How Care Is Organized at Gimel Health

Every patient starts the same way, regardless of which condition brought them here: a free 10-minute discovery call, then a full evaluation, then an ongoing medication management relationship — in person in Fort Lee or by telehealth across NJ and NY. The conditions below aren't separate programs with separate intake processes; they're the same evaluation-first approach applied to your specific diagnosis. If you're not sure which page fits, the discovery call is built for exactly that — you don't need to self-diagnose before reaching out.

As a self-pay practice, every visit is billed directly, with a superbill provided for out-of-network reimbursement. That's a deliberate trade-off: no insurance company sets the length of your appointment or which medications are "covered," which is part of why evaluations here run longer and adjustments happen more often than a typical 15-minute med check.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About
Gimel Health Services

Things patients usually want to know before reaching out.

How do I know which condition page applies to me?

You don’t need to figure that out before reaching out. The discovery call exists specifically to sort this out together — describe what’s going on, and I’ll tell you whether it’s a fit or point you toward the right specialist.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is required. Patients reach out directly, whether they’re self-referring, coming from a therapist, or following up on a primary care doctor’s recommendation.

What's the difference between the discovery call and the initial evaluation?

The discovery call is free, about 10 minutes, and just confirms fit. The initial evaluation is the full clinical intake — history, current symptoms, prior treatment — and is where an actual diagnosis and treatment plan take shape.

Is telehealth available for every condition listed here?

Most conditions can be managed by telehealth across NJ and NY, though some evaluations are better done in person, particularly for a first visit. This is noted on each condition’s own page.

How does billing work if I don't take insurance?

Every visit is paid at the time of service, and a superbill is provided so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement directly with your insurer. Most PPO plans reimburse a meaningful portion of the cost.

What if my condition isn't listed on this page?

The conditions listed cover the practice’s core focus areas, but not every presentation fits neatly into one category — overlapping conditions (like ADHD and bipolar disorder together) are common and are treated as such. The discovery call is the fastest way to find out if it’s a fit.
