Who Can Prescribe ADHD Medication in NJ and NY?
A primary care doctor can sometimes write an ADHD prescription, but the visit that actually works long term usually comes from someone who evaluates and manages ADHD as a core part of their practice.…
Personalized, science-driven psychiatric medication management by secure telehealth across New York, with in-person visits available at the Fort Lee office near NYC.
Self-pay practice · Superbill provided for out-of-network reimbursement
Medication management is more than writing a prescription. It is the ongoing process of choosing the right medication, adjusting the dose, monitoring your response, and managing side effects over time. For New York patients, this care is available by secure telehealth, informed by a background in molecular and cellular biology and grounded in clinical integrity. The aim is a plan that fits your diagnosis, your goals, and your life, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Effective medication management starts with understanding you as a whole person. Your first visit is a comprehensive session of up to 50 minutes, covering your personal, psychiatric, and medical history, current concerns, and treatment goals. Bringing a list of current medications and supplements, relevant family history, and any recent stressors helps. This depth is what allows a medication plan to be accurate from the start rather than adjusted by trial and error.
Prescribing is guided by clinical integrity. I do not recommend medication unless it is truly needed, and when it is, the choice is matched to your diagnosis, history, and preferences. A background in molecular and cellular biology informs a precise, science-based approach across conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and more. Each decision balances benefit, side effects, and your values, so the plan is one you understand and agree with.
Medication management is an ongoing relationship, not a single appointment. Follow-up visits, typically up to 25 minutes, track your progress, fine-tune dosing, and address side effects or new developments. Between visits, you are encouraged to reach out with questions or concerns, and I provide clear guidance on how and when to do so. Consistent monitoring is what keeps a medication plan safe and effective over time.
As a New York patient, you can receive medication management by secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth, which removes the commute and makes regular follow-up easier to keep. In line with clinical best practices and legal guidelines, the first visit generally takes place in person at the Fort Lee office near NYC, unless a rare exception applies. After that, follow-up visits can be virtual, depending on your situation and current state regulations. Prescribing follows New York state and federal rules.
Good medication management works alongside the rest of your care. With your consent, I coordinate with your therapist, primary care physician, or other providers, because open communication often leads to better long-term outcomes. Where talk therapy is the better fit, I say so, and I offer brief therapeutic support when appropriate. Care is offered in English, Russian, and Hebrew, so communication stays clear and culturally attuned.

Most psychiatric prescribing is trial-and-error. My background in
molecular biology — MSc from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with
research at the Weizmann Institute and Mt Sinai — lets me think about
your case at the level of biological pathways, not just symptom
checklists. That means fewer wasted medication trials and a clearer
rationale for every decision.
Adults, adolescents, and children with anxiety, depression, ADHD,
bipolar disorder, OCD, eating disorders, and complex or treatment-
resistant cases. I work especially well with patients who've been let
down by rushed 15-minute medication checks elsewhere.
A 60-minute initial evaluation — in person at my Fort Lee office or via
telehealth anywhere in NJ or NY. We'll go through your full history,
current symptoms, prior treatments, and biological context. You leave
with a clear diagnosis and a specific medication plan, not a maybe.

Watch: Why I founded Gimel Health
Gimel Health follows a personalized, out-of-network care model and does not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement, often around 60 to 70 percent of the visit cost depending on your plan, and I provide the superbills and documentation needed to support your claim. This approach allows individualized, flexible care without the limitations insurance-based systems can impose. Self-pay rates are competitive, and cost should not be a barrier to effective care.
