Precision Psychiatric Medication Management, Delivered to New York

Medication management is more than writing a prescription. It is the ongoing process of choosing the right medication, adjusting the dose, monitoring your response, and managing side effects over time. For New York patients, this care is available by secure telehealth, informed by a background in molecular and cellular biology and grounded in clinical integrity. The aim is a plan that fits your diagnosis, your goals, and your life, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

A THOROUGH INITIAL EVALUATION

Effective medication management starts with understanding you as a whole person. Your first visit is a comprehensive session of up to 50 minutes, covering your personal, psychiatric, and medical history, current concerns, and treatment goals. Bringing a list of current medications and supplements, relevant family history, and any recent stressors helps. This depth is what allows a medication plan to be accurate from the start rather than adjusted by trial and error.

PERSONALIZED, EVIDENCE-BASED PRESCRIBING

Prescribing is guided by clinical integrity. I do not recommend medication unless it is truly needed, and when it is, the choice is matched to your diagnosis, history, and preferences. A background in molecular and cellular biology informs a precise, science-based approach across conditions including mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and more. Each decision balances benefit, side effects, and your values, so the plan is one you understand and agree with.

ONGOING MONITORING AND ADJUSTMENT

Medication management is an ongoing relationship, not a single appointment. Follow-up visits, typically up to 25 minutes, track your progress, fine-tune dosing, and address side effects or new developments. Between visits, you are encouraged to reach out with questions or concerns, and I provide clear guidance on how and when to do so. Consistent monitoring is what keeps a medication plan safe and effective over time.

TELEHEALTH ACCESS FOR NEW YORK PATIENTS

As a New York patient, you can receive medication management by secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth, which removes the commute and makes regular follow-up easier to keep. In line with clinical best practices and legal guidelines, the first visit generally takes place in person at the Fort Lee office near NYC, unless a rare exception applies. After that, follow-up visits can be virtual, depending on your situation and current state regulations. Prescribing follows New York state and federal rules.

COLLABORATIVE, WHOLE-PERSON CARE

Good medication management works alongside the rest of your care. With your consent, I coordinate with your therapist, primary care physician, or other providers, because open communication often leads to better long-term outcomes. Where talk therapy is the better fit, I say so, and I offer brief therapeutic support when appropriate. Care is offered in English, Russian, and Hebrew, so communication stays clear and culturally attuned.

Why molecular biology matters to your treatment

Most psychiatric prescribing is trial-and-error. My background in
molecular biology — MSc from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with
research at the Weizmann Institute and Mt Sinai — lets me think about
your case at the level of biological pathways, not just symptom
checklists. That means fewer wasted medication trials and a clearer
rationale for every decision.

Who I treat

Adults, adolescents, and children with anxiety, depression, ADHD,
bipolar disorder, OCD, eating disorders, and complex or treatment-
resistant cases. I work especially well with patients who've been let
down by rushed 15-minute medication checks elsewhere.

What your first visit looks like

A 60-minute initial evaluation — in person at my Fort Lee office or via
telehealth anywhere in NJ or NY. We'll go through your full history,
current symptoms, prior treatments, and biological context. You leave
with a clear diagnosis and a specific medication plan, not a maybe.

FEES & INSURANCE

Accessible, Out-of-Network Psychiatric Care

Gimel Health follows a personalized, out-of-network care model and does not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement, often around 60 to 70 percent of the visit cost depending on your plan, and I provide the superbills and documentation needed to support your claim. This approach allows individualized, flexible care without the limitations insurance-based systems can impose. Self-pay rates are competitive, and cost should not be a barrier to effective care.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About
Medication Management NY

Things patients usually want to know before reaching out.

What is your treatment philosophy, and what makes your approach unique?

My treatment philosophy is rooted in thoughtful, personalized psychiatric care that respects each patient’s individuality. I combine clinical expertise with a background in molecular and cellular biology to build plans that are scientifically informed and tailored to your goals. A core principle is clinical integrity: I do not prescribe medication unless it is truly necessary, and when it is indicated, I work with you to make sure it aligns with your needs, values, and preferences. Care is offered in English, Russian, and Hebrew.

What is the difference between a psychiatry provider and a psychotherapist?

As a psychiatric provider, I am medically trained to diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe and manage medication, with a focus on the biological and neurological aspects of mental illness. A psychotherapist, such as a psychologist, social worker, or counselor, provides talk therapy to help with emotional, behavioral, or relational challenges but does not prescribe medication. I offer brief therapeutic support when appropriate and collaborate with psychotherapists to ensure comprehensive care.

How long are the visits?

The length depends on the appointment type. The initial consultation is a comprehensive session of up to 50 minutes, during which I explore your personal history, medical background, current concerns, and treatment goals in depth. Follow-up visits are typically up to 25 minutes and focus on tracking progress, adjusting the plan, and addressing new developments. Every session is meant to be focused, collaborative, and responsive to your needs.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit is an in-depth conversation designed to help me understand you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. I ask about your personal, psychiatric, and medical history, discuss your current challenges, and begin identifying treatment goals. It helps to bring a list of current medications and supplements, relevant family medical or mental health history, and a sense of the stressors you think I should know about. This lays the groundwork for a personalized plan.

How do I stay in contact between visits?

Staying connected between appointments is part of effective care. I view treatment as a collaborative process, and your involvement matters. If questions, concerns, or changes come up between visits, whether about medication, symptoms, or anything else, you are encouraged to reach out, and I provide clear instructions on how and when to contact me so communication stays open and timely.

Do you offer in-person appointments, telehealth, or both?

I offer in-person, telehealth, and hybrid options. In line with clinical best practices and legal guidelines, your first visit generally takes place in person, unless a rare exception applies. After the initial evaluation, follow-up appointments may be virtual, depending on your situation and current state regulations. The goal is flexible, high-quality care that still meets the standards for effective and responsible treatment.

Do you work with other healthcare providers?

Yes. With your consent, I am glad to coordinate with your therapist, primary care physician, or any other providers involved in your care. Open communication among providers often leads to more effective treatment and better long-term outcomes, especially when navigating complex or overlapping medical and psychiatric concerns.
